About Leather

Real Leather is an entirely natural product, it breathes; its warm and it has individual characteristics which make up its inherent charm.

We produce high quality leather hides to meet the specific needs of the furniture industry. Due to our modern tanning processes and the desire of the consumer, leather now has a more glove like feel, and will maintain this suppleness during the lifetime of the leather. Our leather is suitable for Contract and Commercial properties, Public buildings, Hotels, Restaurants, Bars, Retails and Leisure facilities.

We produce all types of leather including Full Aniline, Semi-Aniline and Pigmented varieties as well as hair on hide leathers.

Composition and Manufacture

Our Italian tannery produces around six million square feet of finished leather each month.  All hides are of bovine origin and are carefully selected from sources worldwide for size and grain quality. 
 
Crest tannery is accredited to ISO 9001:2000 and 14001:2004. 

Bespoke 

A bespoke colour service is offered with a minimum order of only 1 hide.  Any colour can be matched or requested by quoting a Pantone reference.  Bespoke colours are produced using the Moda or Dollaro qualities. More details can be found on the bespoke leather page on this site.

Service and Support

Services include full sampling facilities, visits by area representatives and full installation service for floor and wall tiling.  A leather description sheet is available from the sales office, as is advice and further technical information.
 

Delivery

Bulk hides can be shipped direct from our tannery in Italy to any destination around the world. Smaller quantities are normally handled from our sales office and warehouse facilities the UK.

Most hides are available from stock and supplied directly to the client with a 24-hour delivery service to the UK mainland.  Additional treatments (such as crib 5) take extra time, approximately three days from order.  Bespoke colours can also be made with a lead time of approximately four weeks (plus delivery) from colour approval.
